Laura Taylor
Associate Professor, Faculty of Environmental Studies, York University


Dr. Taylor is an Associate Professor in the planning program at the Faculty of Environmental Studies, York University. Her research interest is in nature and environmental politics in urban and regional planning. She has been a university instructor for 20 years, often using the university campus as a fieldwork site for courses in urban and landscape ecology and environmental design and planning. For almost 10 years she has been a member of York’s Master Planning and Facilities Committee, which advises the University on the use and development of its lands. Laura is co-editor of two books, The Ideology of Nature: Green Sprawl (2013) and A Comparative Political Ecology of Exurbia and Landscape: Planning, Environmental Management and Landscape Change (2016).
