This year’s faculty of environmental studies speaker seriers on (Re)Making Urban Space featured the topic of Youthification: Students, Housing and Urban Change. Nick Revington, PhD candidate at University of Waterloo, spoke on the formation of a niche residential submarket of student housing in relation to urban process and planning implications. Chan Arun-Pina, PhD candidate in the Department of Geography at York University, discussed heteronormative rental landscapes for alternate/non-family/student housing in Bangalore, India.
